๐Ÿ“– Healthy Lifestyle Habits with Innovation and Technology

This month my focus really feels like a lot of reversing our age. Keeping youthful. Maybe because I had my birthday last month; maybe because another year is passing. In any case, I am interested in sharing with you any and all benefits of a healthy lifestyle. The healthier the better.

Youโ€™ve read my excitement about the benefits about fasting. I think for a person new to water fasting, a 3-day water only fast one a month. With practice you can increase your frequency to twice a month.

Iโ€™m not a scientist. I do not even pretend to know the periodic table of elements, I do remember that the class I learned it in was in the upper part of campus and I felt like we were almost in the forest. Memoriesโ€ฆ

The point of that story is to say that I donโ€™t know how our bodies do all the things it does. I mean I do but I donโ€™t. I am in school. Iโ€™m always learning. Sharing what I learn. I learn by asking questions.

In the video below, David Schmidt answers a couple questions that are commonly asked about pain management and fasting.

You know I encourage water fasting at least 3 days once a month (or a maximum 2x a month for an advanced beginning water faster.) Regular exercise and a healthy diet will assist in the efficacy of ANY supplement program you take. I recommend starting slowly. Start with drinking only water when you wake up until 11am. Do this for a week. Then push the end time to 3pm. Try that for a week. Then change your end time to sunset. You will notice you are fasting anywhere from between 8 and 10 hours! That is an awesome way to build the muscle of food restriction which is what fasting technically is. If you continue to build in this pattern: push back your end time by at least 3 hours, practice that for 1 week at a time, after about a month or so, you will be ready for your first 24 hour fast. Pick one day of the week where you know you can fast and support yourself well. I recommend breaking a fast just as gently as you participate in the fast. Drink a smoothie, eat fruit or some people like to have soup or broth to start their digestive process. Always, drink plenty of water.

When we pursue good health as a lifestyle and not a quick fix, we have more success. It's very hard at times because the first place the change must begin is in the mind. The mind controls many things. Actions, motivations. Once that is focused there is a higher degree of success. How to focus the mind. Build healthy habits. It's not a one and done thing. It's a continue to do it thing. Plan the perfect day. Set the alarms for the day. Not only based on current circumstances but also moving in all the most effective and efficient ways. See, the rigidity or the flexibility in your schedule and continue forward toward the best of it.

Affirmations are helpful to achieve this. It helps us to think in the positive while we experience all the different experiences of the day. I use Spotify playlists to help me with this. I look for affirmations or other positive spoken word music, and make playlist to listen to while driving working, exercising. This is very powerful because with the catchy rhythm of music and the repetition of the lyrics, it's very easy to turn a song into a daily meditation. The mind is a strong and powerful creation. Once you begin to understand that, there really is no limit to what you can achieve. Explore it. I am convinced you'll convince yourself and test it out more and more. Doing more and achieving more. It is wonderful! There is always a hope and expectation that you can achieve anything you set your mind to achieve.

If you are beginning your journey of health improvement, you have every day to begin again or accept that each day you make healthy choices. Even if it's deciding to make better choices. That's a start Another great start is to adopt a way to get 30 minutes of cardio into your daily life. I love short quick cardio blasts. A 7 minute workout, 4 times a day equals 28 minutes. That's a great start! You can grab a jump rope, walk up and down stairs, find a video online or walk/job your street for less than 10 minutes. (I will be uploading a short series of HIIT workouts you can do at home - including from your chair soon in the programs section... stay tuned for that!)

With so many popular trends in the health and wellness industry, there is no shortage of innovative technology advances. You can almost 3D print a healthier organ and outpatient it's transplant. Ok, maybe that is a bit much, but my point remains that you can pretty much find a solution to most symptoms. For example, many companies now offer cbd options for physical as well as mental and emotional symptoms. Acupuncture is another traditional wellness tool that has seen some innovation. I recently shared this innovation with someone and I was thankful because I watched how quickly it helped her. Let me share with you this quick story and then I'll let you go.

I volunteer, at times, with my church to distribute food and clothes to the less fortunate in my little town. I noticed this woman serving who looked like she was in pain. You know when your back hurts and you just want to lean on things because sitting hurts just as much as standing? She had that look. So once we were done serving, I asked her and she explained she was very use to this pain and today it was just a really bad day. I offered her patches for pain and she said she'd try them when she got home as she wanted to shower first. I was hesitant because it's a two step patch and I had to send her a video to see the placement without being there but she took them, went home and called me to tell me how quickly and effectively they work. She sounded great and the next week when I saw her she looked great, walking around without any obvious pain. It's this type of innovation that is available today. A simple patch, applied to the body at acupuncture points delivering immediate relief and 12 hours of treatment without laying with needles in the body for 12 hours. If you know someone who would be interested in learning more about a product like that, please share this post with them.

This is my anniversary month, so my husband and I will be celebrating! I look forward to celebrating the remaining holidays with you also. Next month is November and I love the holiday season even though I don't celebrate like most people. Stay tuned for that!

๐Ÿ“— About D Goosby of JDs Organic Productions

๐ŸŒบMy Story... The Journey Continues๐ŸŒบ

D Goosby of JD's Organic Productions, I am a wife and a mom to 8 beautiful kids including 2 sets of twins. At one point, I weighed close to 300 lbs and then lost half of it just to put most of it back on. Eventually I got tired of the yo-yo. I learned some hidden truths about our food system and decided to get educated to make lasting changes. I am a certified personal trainer, and currently studying to become a nutrition and behavior modification coach as well as a peristeam practitioner. I realize that I am not alone in wanting to make healthy lifestyle changes but many of us are lacking the knowledge to make anything permanent.

That is where I can help. I help busy moms like myself, get back to where they feel good again, they look the way they want to look and they get to be a healthy role model for their families and friends.
